The monastic yard Leubnitz decreases/goes back to an old gentleman property, which originally belonged to the family of beautiful castle. 1233 came this property into the possession of the monastery small forest and fell later to the Mark count Heinrich the Erlauchten. His widow Elizabeth von Maltitz left the Vorwerk Leubnitz with church and jurisdiction the Cistercian monastery Altzella to 1288 with Nossen. Under klösterlicher rule the Leubnitzer yard was converted to the monastery property and developed to a agricultural large economy. Although the actual monastic yard corridor covered only approx. 130 hectares in Leubnitz, Torna and Strehlen, this property developed to the most important agricultural enterprise in the Dresden area. Among other things the places Goppeln, Gostritz, Praschütz, Reick, Strehlen, Torna, man joke and cancer belonged to the monastery property with Pirna completely; in addition possessions came into Gompitz, Kauscha, Prohlis and Kleinzschachwitz.
The monastic yard, which was led by a yard master, employed few workers up to its dissolution only. A majority of the work, to which beside the order of the fields also the cultivation of fruit and the pisciculture belonged, had to be settled by the farmers of the surrounding villages in Fronarbeit. 1550 were secularized the monastic yard and handed over by cure prince Moritz to the city Dresden. Cause was an agreed upon compensation of the city for their expenditures with the development of the fortifications. Been subordinate as Leubnitzer office earlier monastery corridors now the advice of the city, which the leaning and jurisdiction possessed at the same time. Contrary to many other villages also the blood or neck courts belonged to, which made the imposition possible of death sentences. Still until around 1820 of the Leubnitzer Galgen were at the local exit after Goppeln.
After assumption of the monastic yard a part was transferred corridors to farmers, who established some new farmsteads. Further farms were added 1569, than the farmers of the Ostravorwerkes created its new settlement Neuostra here. Particularly for this purpose the cure prince had redeemed a part the monastic yard corridor, in order to be able to deliver it as compensation to the farmers. Earlier main building of the monastery property was converted 1572 into a Schankwirtschaft, which existed still until the Second World War. Despite protests of the care of monuments and many homeland-connected citizens “ the stone house was torn off ” 1972 because of state of decay. Only 1994 could be opened a to a large extent original-faithful reconstruction as hotel and restaurant in same place. Since 2001 are closed the hotel and at the end of of 2007 are again opened.
